Charminar is a famous landmark and tourist attraction in Hyderabad. It is located in the Rangareddy district of Hyderabad. This monument was built in the year 1591 CE and is also listed as one of the most recognised monuments in India. As the name of the monument implies, it has four towers supported by four arches. The towers are each 47.8 meters tall and the mosque has 45 praying areas inside it. It is believed that this monument was built to commemorate the eradication of a plague which has erupted in that region around that time. Many tourists from all over India come to Hyderabad to visit Charminar and witness its splendour.
How to reach Charminar?
Charminar is located in the middle of Hyderabad city and falls in Rangareeddy district. This historical site can be easily reached from Hyderabad railway station, Secunderabad railway station and Hyderabad Airport. It is located 10 kilometres from Secunderabad junction and 21 kms from Hyderabad Airport.
