Qutabshahi tombs were constructed in the memory of the Kings of Golconda who died. These splendid monuments have withstood the test of time and atrocities of natural forces. The Qutabshahi tombs are situated around 1 kilometre from Golconda Forts also called the Band Darwaza. These marvels have an imposing presence which speaks very highly of the architectural excellence of that period. They are also the reminder of the glory enjoyed by the Golconda Kings who were buried on this very spot. The tombs were built by the Qutub Shahis and is counted among the oldest monuments of Hyderabad. The tombs are built on raised platforms in groups. Somewhat resembling Persian and Hindu architectural styles, you can see the use of grey granite embellished with stucco ornamentation. What makes this place even more enchanting is the presence of beautifully landscaped gardens and carved stonework.

These tombs are located in Rangareddy district of the old city of Hyderabad and are quite easily accessible. It is located at a distance of 14 kms from Secunderabad railway station and 30 kms from Hyderabad Airport.
