Mellacheruvu is a popular village in Nalgonda district of Telangana State which showcases many glimpses of the Kakatiya dynasty. The village is famous for the Swayambhu Sambhulingeswara Swami temple which has Shiva linga with a hole in it. The hole is filled with water in all the seasons. It is therefore also known as DakshinKashi (Varanasi of South).
