Adoni Fort was built by Vijayanagara rulers in the 14th Century AD. The fort is partly in ruins due to the negligence, but the remnants of the fort speak very highly of the Vijayanagara rulers. The Arabic inscriptions also suggest that the fort also served as a military position for the Muslim rulers of Bijapur and Golconda Empire. The fort stands tall on the granite rocks and looks commanding even today.
