Bankey Bihari Temple is also one of most famous and holiest temple among the other temples of Lord Krishna. Bankey bihari appeared at Nidhivana by Swami Haridas. Here Lord Krishna gives darshan Tribhanga posture as the meaning of “bankey” is “bent at three places” and “bihari” means “supreme enjoyer”. Feeling of divinity comes here when seen. And the decoration of the idols with flowers is awesome. You will be in full of people with emotions singing lord krishna’s songs and devotion.




According to the history of the temple, it is said that Swami haridas sang a song for which Radha and Shyam appeared and left there his black charming image and disappeared. Swami Haridas was into deep meditation and left his village and reached Vrindavan. Nidhivan was the place where he started practising his music sitting there. Open on all the days, morning and evening and afternoon it will be closed.

How to reach

The nearest aiport is Agra aiport that is 67 kms away from Vrindavan and the International airport is the Indira Gandhi International aiport, connected to all the important cities. Mathura railway station is the nearest if you want to go by train. As the temple is only 7kms way from the National highway and Mathura is 12 kms away, frequent buses are there along with autos and rickshaws.
