Iskcon Temple – A temple of brothers – Krishna and Balaram

The International Society for Consciousness that is abbreviated as “Iskcon” temple by Bhakti Vedanta swamy Prabhupada in 1966 for Lord Krishna and his brother Balaram. This is the most famous temple among the other temples of Lord Krishna and is located in Raman reti of Vrindavan. This temple is a gaudiya, vaishnava and yadava temple which is known for its peace and serene surroundings.




The temple is made of marble in 1975 and the three deities of the temple are Gaura and Nitai, Krishna and Balaram and last Radha and Krishna. The idols here are lively and so simple and decorated that you feel they are really in that pose for a snap.

Swami Prabhupada’s Samadhi, built in white marble is in the front of the temple regarding the contributions he made and his house has been converted into a museum. Here in this temple, you can find a goshala and a guest house.

How to reach

The nearest aiport is Agra aiport that is 54 kms away from Iskcon temple and the Mathura railway station is the nearest which is at a distance of only 8 kms to the temple. As the temple is on the main road, buses will also be available along with autos and rickshaws.
