Welcome to the world of bird sanctuaries where Nawabganj Bird Sanctuary is a natural green and peaceful bird sanctuary located at a distance of 43kms in Unnao district on the Kanpur-Lucknow highway in Uttar Pradesh. This is a small sanctuary within an area of 3 sq. kms.




This can be a perfect picnic at the weekend. The sanctuary is nestled around a shallow green lake forest with silent environment which is the perfect place for the migratory birds. The resounds of the birds in the lake view, with attractive colors and with their sweet voice chirping and twittering gives us a marvellous experience with its inspiring beauty. Taking a long walk with natures is a wonderful moment for us that is unforgettable in life.

This was established in the year 1984. The sanctuary provides protection for 250 species. There is also a deer park sanctuary, watchtowers and boats beside the lake. In winter, many birds like Mallard, Garganey teal, little grebe, purple moorhen, spoonbill duck, wigon, red wattle lapwing and many more birds etc.

How to reach

Amuasi Airport, Lucknow is 35 Km away if reaching by air. The Nawabganj Birds Sanctuary from Kanpur railway station is at a distance of 45 Km and Lucknow railway station is 55 Km. One can very easily get taxis and buses from these places to sanctuary. Also well connected road network.
