Singarayakonda is a popular town situated in the Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh. The town derives its name from the hill (Konda) which is said to be of the lion (Singha). It implies that the shrine of Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy who was an incarnation of Lord Vishnu lives in these hills. Another famous attraction of the town is the temple of Prasanna Anjaneya Swamy who was a devotee of Lord Rama. The temple has an idol of Lord Hanuman who is called Anjaneyaswamy as he was the son of Anjani. Other attractionin the town is the Ayyappa swami temple which located near old singarayakonda.




How to reach Singarayakonda?
Singarayakonda lies on the NH 5 which makes it easily accessible from all the major cities and states. You can take a taxi or use your own conveyance if you are coming by road. Singarayakonda is a railway station on the Chennai-Howrah railway line which connects the town with all important cities and towns like Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Vizag and Ongole. The nearest Airport to the town is at Gannavaram, Vijayawada.
