Situated in a corner of Jew town, and hundred plus years old is the Jewish Synagogue. This magnificent synagogue was built in the year 1568 and in a place given by the King of Cochin and is adjacent to the Mattancherry Palace.
This synagogue is a must visit place to unfold the past Jewish history of Kerala. The architecture of the synagogue is marvelous. The interior of the Jewish Synagogue is very beautiful and with rare antique objects and is much more attractive with lovely chandeliers and its lightings and the floor tiles that are hand painted. The other important attractive collections are old testaments that are in silver and gold, old copper plates, artistically carved silver crowns and gold crowns.
If you are an antique lover, then there is a Jew street for shopping. Also there is an exclusive gallery for women in the synagogue. The timings of the Jewish Synagogue are from 10 am to 12 pm and again from 3 pm to 5pm.

The nearest airport to reach the Jewish Synagogue is the Cochin International Airport. By rail, Ernakulam Junction is the nearest railway station that is 10 kms distance and is well connected via roads to Mattancherry with the nearby towns and cities.
