Periyar tiger reserve in Thekkady is nearly 4 kms from kumili in Idukki district. By air, you can reach to Cochin International airport which is about190 kms and also Thiruvananthapuram International airport that is nearly about 267 kms. By rails you have four stations that you can reach. They are the Kottayam station -114 kms, Changanassery – 120 kms, Ernakulam – 190 kms and Madurai – 135 kms. By road, you can reach by bus from Thiruvananthapuram, Cochin, Kottayam, Munnar and Madurai.
