Nizamabad Fort is one of the many attractions in Nizamabad district and is frequented by many tourists from all over India. Inside the fort is a Jagannath temple which is also quite famous. The fort was built in the 10th century by the Rashtraputha Kings.  Atop the Fort is a Rama Temple with a huge corridor and a Kalyan Mandapam where weddings are held. This temple of Lord Rama in the fort was built by the Marathi ruler, Chatrapathi Shivaji. The influences of Jain dynasty can also be observed in some of the ancient artifacts present in the fort.




How can you reach Nizamabad Fort?
The place is situated at an approximate distance of 200 kilometres from Hyderabad towards the Maharashtra border. Nizamabad can easily be reached from Hyderabad as it falls on the Hyderabad-Mumbai route. The district is well connected by road as well as railways. Few trains have their stoppage in the Nizamabad Railway station. Regular buses also ply from all major cities in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.


Ideal time to visit Nizamabad Fort
The weather of Tealangana is the best and the most pleasant in the month of December to February and is therefore the best time to visit Hyderabad.
