Located in the middle of Mathura city and on the banks of river Yamuna, Krishna Janma Bhoomi is the place where Lord Krishna was born in a prison cell to Devaki and Vasudev. The temple is built long years ago with beautiful architecture and the cell is called as the “Garbha Griha” of the temple that is built beautifully and lakhs of visitors come here annually.




Have a peaceful mind to visit the most peaceful and smiling Krishna. The celebrations during the festival Janmashtami are very famous all over India. The stone walled cell in the temple reminds the cruelty of the king Kamsa.

The temple is open from 7 am to 8 pm on all the days. The best time to visit the temple is from October to March as the weather is very good. The climate in the day is very pleasant and ideal for a visit to this place.

How to reach

The nearest airport is the Agra airport which is at a distance of 48 kms to Sri Krishna Janma bhoomi temple. The Mathura railway station is only 1 km away from the temple. Therefore, you hire a local transport from the railway station to the temple.
